Mitigating basement flooding issues in Mississauga
IBI Group completed the new sanitary sewer and local watermain along Ponytrail Drive and Rathburn Road in the City of Mississauga. This assignment was part of the Region’s State of Good Repair Program to improve the municipal infrastructure and mitigate basement flooding issues in the area.
Some project challenges included utilizing open cut and trenchless construction methods within narrow, congested residential streets, and the installation of a sewer microtunnel in close proximity to a large existing storm sewer.
